Residence Tower in Gayrettepe, Beşiktaş

Selenium Panorama is a 24-storey residential tower on Hoşsohbet Sokak in Gayrettepe, in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul. It was built by Aşçıoğlu İnşaat, the developer behind the Selenium brand of residences, to a design by architect Ömer Çamoğlu. Construction ran from 2007 to 2009. The tower rises to about 100 metres, has a construction area of 20,000 m² and contains around 80 residences, mainly 1+1 and 2+1 flats, with duplex penthouses at the top. The building has been occupied since completion.

Location and Transport

Gayrettepe sits between Zincirlikuyu, Esentepe and Balmumcu, at the top of Barbaros Boulevard, which runs down to Beşiktaş and the Bosphorus ferry piers. Gayrettepe station on the M2 metro links the area with Levent and Maslak to the north and Şişli, Taksim and the historic peninsula to the south, and Gayrettepe is also the starting point of the M11 metro line to Istanbul Airport. The nearest metrobus stop is Zincirlikuyu, where the main roads lead to the 15 July Martyrs Bridge across the Bosphorus.

The office towers of Zincirlikuyu, Esentepe and Levent are close by, as is the Zorlu Center shopping and arts complex at Zincirlikuyu. Beşiktaş centre is a short trip down Barbaros Boulevard.

Homes and Amenities

Most homes are one- and two-bedroom flats. Published plans show 1+1 flats of about 87, 95 and 120 m² and 2+1 flats of about 160 m², each with one or two parking spaces. At launch the developer also marketed duplex penthouses of about 476 m². Aşçıoğlu designed the tower with garden balconies facing panoramic city views, and some higher flats look towards the Bosphorus.

Shared facilities listed for the building include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a children's pool, a fitness centre, sauna, Turkish bath and steam room, a meeting room and a staffed lobby with reception. Technical services, intercom and central heating and cooling systems are part of the building's infrastructure.
