Loft Apartments in a Converted Building in Levent

Levent Loft is a residential building on the Levent stretch of Büyükdere Caddesi, Istanbul's main business avenue between Levent and Maslak, in the Beşiktaş district. It was designed by Tabanlıoğlu Architects, the practice behind Kanyon and İstanbul Sapphire, and built by Akfen İnşaat, which lists it among its loft-concept housing projects. The project was completed in 2007.

Levent Loft began life as an office structure set at right angles to Büyükdere Caddesi, on land between the former Fako and Deva pharmaceutical factories. Tabanlıoğlu converted it into housing on a long, narrow footprint: a 12-storey block at the front, an 8-storey block at the rear and a 5-storey link between them. Architectural project descriptions give about 144 apartments. A later companion building behind it, Levent Loft II, also marketed as Loft Bahçe, added 82 more homes with planted, garden-style facades.

Location and Transport

The building sits on the Levent-Maslak axis, among the office towers of one of Istanbul's busiest business districts. The M2 metro line runs beneath Büyükdere Caddesi, with stations at Levent and 4. Levent, and continues south to Gayrettepe, Şişli-Mecidiyeköy and Taksim and north to Maslak. At Levent, the M6 line branches off towards Etiler and Boğaziçi University, and at Gayrettepe the M11 line runs to Istanbul Airport.

Kanyon, Metrocity and İstanbul Sapphire are close by, so shops, restaurants and cinemas are within easy reach. By road, Büyükdere Caddesi leads south to Zincirlikuyu and the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, and north to Maslak and the TEM motorway towards the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.

Homes and Amenities

Published descriptions give apartment sizes of about 68 m² to 182 m². The smaller units suit single professionals and couples, while the larger homes are duplexes with a private terrace or roof garden, a rare feature in central Levent. The loft concept, with its open-plan living areas, came from the building's office origins.

Car parking and storage units are in the basement levels. Building services, the monthly management fee (aidat) and the parking allocation are set by the building management, so we confirm them for each unit before an offer.

Levent Loft suits buyers who want to live within walking distance of the Levent offices, and investors who want a central flat that appeals to professional tenants. The building has been lived in since 2007, so homes for sale here are resales between private owners. Prices depend on size, floor and whether the unit is a standard flat or a duplex with outdoor space.
